Cincinnati's Barq's Bottling Company changed the amber-colored crème soda to red, creating what others would call “red pop.” Now it's known as Barq's Famous Red Crème Soda.
Barq's Root Beer was different from other soft drinks. Barq's Root Beer advertised that it had more "bite" than other root beers. This was due to Barq's concoction of a higher content of carbonation and lower content of sugar that produced a root beer without the traditional foamy head. Drink Barq's! It's good!
